Marie-Hélène Mucchielli-Giorgi, biostatistician, recruited into the GNet team
Marie-Hélène Mucchielli-Giorgi, biostatistician working at the Institute of Integrative Biology of the Cell (I2BC) and at the Pierre et Marie Curie University has just been recruited into the GNet team as Bioinformatics professor at the Evry Val d'Essonne University. Marie-Hélène is interested in the inference of gene or protein networks by integrating heterogeneous omic data. She also develops graph clustering methods for (i) annotating proteins, (ii) modeling biological processes, and (iii) predicting the response of cells to stress or treatment. In this context, she worked in close collaboration with the Gif / Orsay transcriptome platform and with the I2BC Mass Spectrometry Protein Identification and Characterization Service (SICAPS). The research project she would like to develop at IPS2 concerns the exploitation and integration of molecular networks for the improvement of the functional annotation of plants.
